New Bedford AHA Night

April 11 @ 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Spring has sprung, bringing with it new life, warmer weather and longer days. Mark your calendars for the April 11th AHA! Night when— just in time for Earth Day— our theme is “Sustainable SouthCoast.” Join us in celebrating the earth and explore how we can create a sustainable environment for ourselves and others. Plus new art, live music, kids activities, film screenings and plenty of opportunities to #shopDNB & #eatDNB.

Celebrate Earth Eve with the largest People-Powered Parade in New England! The climate is changing, and it’s time to make a statement. The evening will be filled with fun, as the group parades along the procession route with their eco-floats—anything a person or group can wear, roll, or carry along the procession route. Participants convene at 5pm in front of the New Bedford Public Library (613 Pleasant Street). The procession will begin at 5:30pm and travel throughout downtown.

The Community Boating Center, Port of New Bedford and Clean Ocean Access are partnering to put a marine trash skimmer in New Bedford Harbor. Before it is installed, it will be stationed on Pleasant Street, in front of the library for the April AHA! Night. CBC staff will be there to answer questions about the skimmer and its use and to offer tips on what we all can do to help prevent marine debris.
