Brooke E. Gonzalez Adv. Racing Clinic 2015

IMG_2642On June 19th we partnered with 11th Hour Racing and Sail Newport for a presentation at the Brooke E. Gonzalez Adv. Racing Clinic 2015 and provided a presentation our Marine Debris Solutions Project and real-world sustainability efforts on local sail boats. A great group of people and an incredible opportunity to inspire the next generation of adults that fixing the problem of marine debris is within our reach, it just takes determination, persistence and a believing that we can do it!

20150618_190713

Our 9th annual volunteer appreciation cookout was granted another year of great weather, and with over 80 people in attendance, it was a great event! A big shout to Marty for helping with getting the food, Captain Mike for providing live music and Frank for stepping up to be the grill-master! So many people do so many different things to make COA successful, these events are extra special as it brings like-minded folks together. COA is made up of a community that cares about the environment, please join forces and make a pledge of just 27 cents per day and join the COA1000 LINK so that our mission can continue into our 10th year of service.  Thank you

Day of Service

combo

On June 11th we hosted the 2nd annual day of service for Cambridge Associates at Sachuest Point. The place was AMAZINGLY clean, thanks to the COA Marine Debris Solutions Lifecycle Project (MDSLP) team that is made up of 16 people who have adopted a small section of the coastline and visit their section each month and monitor the coastline and perform a marine debris removal event. Promoting environmental stewardship is as easy as going outside and showing that you care. Thanks to Kate and Annie for hosting the event, and as always this time of the year our poster (compliments of RPMS) also includes a shout-out to promote Surf Fest V!
