From the outside looking in, water conservation doesn’t seem necessary. We are called the “Blue Planet” after all because 70% of the earth’s surface is covered in water so water scarcity seems to be a far-off issue. However, when you break down the percentages of water on earth we begin to see a different story. 97% of all the water on earth is salt water, 3% is fresh water, and only 1% is available for drinking water. With populations growing and a finite amount of water available, the responsibility to conserve water lies on every one of us. Be faucet conscious when brushing your teeth and washing your hands! Save your flushes! Only use your dishwasher for full loads! Turn the water off while soaping dishes! Together as a community we can make a difference in positive water conservation!
