Since 2008, our citizen science volunteers have collected 421 weekly water samples from Easton’s Beach. Bacteria levels were more frequently elevated during warmer months, however elevated levels did occur year-round. Over a period of eight years, 112 of our samples were elevated, relative to the acceptable limit. Results show that water quality at Easton’s Beach is slowly improving, but additional measures must be taken to resolve all potential source of bacteria impairing our local waters. Citizen science volunteers continue to collect year-round, weekly water samples from Easton’s Beach. We must continue to protect and preserve this recreational resource so future generations can continue to enjoy ocean activities. To learn more, please contact us via e-mail!
